Meet GLAMprenuers Madison and Mallory, founders of Angels and Tomboys®—a body care line of uniquely scented lotions and body spray for tween and teen girls. We are all about Girl Power, and the mission of Angels and Tomboys® is to empower young girls and boost their confidence with fun and feel good scents, ranging from Peanut Butter Jelly Time to Candy Star Glam to Rockin’ Blueberry! “GLAM Girls just wanna have fun,” right?”

MGGR:
How old are you GLAM Girls?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
I’m 11 years old

GLAM Girl-Mallory:
I’m 10 years old

MGGR:
Tell us about your brand Angels and Tomboys? And how did you come up with the name?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
Because every Angel has a bit of Tomboy in them. Our line represents the uniqueness of EVERY girl. That we are our own person. No cookie cutter business. We have different personalities and interests. It’s a girl power thing! We believe that when you smell good, you feel good no matter if it’s on a basketball court, in a dance studio or if you’re a book worm or a scientist. No matter how rough and tough or how sweet and soft we ALL like to smell, feel and look our best.

GLAM Girl-Mallory:
Angels and Tomboys lotions and body sprays are a select blend of ingredients that nourish young skin. Our diversely scented products moisturize and keep skin soft and healthy while leaving a long-lasting smell good scent. Our products are: Paraben Free, Vegan-friendly, Made from all natural ingredients, Not tested on animals and Made in the USA. Our products are loaded with healthy butters and vitamins: shea butter, cocoa butter, aloe vera, vitamin A, vitamin C, and vitamin E. So we don’t just make cute products that smell good, our products are also great for your skin and there are no harmful ingredients.

MGGR:
What gave you the idea to start Angels and Tomboys and turn it into a business?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
We got tired of wearing our mom’s perfume because it was too strong, too flowery and, or too expensive. As we grew and got into smelling good, we noticed that there weren’t products nor a store that carried products just for tween and teen girls. There wasn’t anything on the market just for us. Our products are made by girls, for girls with girls in mind. Hip and fun shampoos, lotions, soaps, deodorants etc. We applied our creativity along with our moms and came up with rocking ideas. Now, moms (ours included) no longer have to hide their expensive perfumes, with Angels and Tomboys their girls will have their own beauty line specially made for them!

MGGR:
How do you find time to balance school and work?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
We just make it happen. Our mother is big on teaching us to balance. That it’s important to learn now, how not to put all of our energy in just one thing but learn how to balance and juggle life. While first making time for self. We’re taught the importance of spiritual balance and the role it plays in being balanced physically. It’s not hard. We just do it. Organize and set aside time for self, school, business, friends and family. We get plenty of rest, eat balanced meals and most importantly our mom encourages us and allows us to be kids. She doesn’t believe in taking things too seriously. When it becomes work, it’s no longer fun. So, she keeps life and business fun and coaches us on doing the same.

MGGR:
What is your #1 fragrance?

GLAM Girl-Mallory:
It’s a tie! Our top 3 are Watermelon Funk, Candy Star Glam, and Frozen  Hot Chocolate. They run close in sells.

MGGR:
We all face challenges daily…what were some of your challenges starting Angels and Tomboys and how did you overcome them?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
Having enough money to fully fund our idea was the biggest challenge. We fixed this by pulling from our savings and our mom invested a large amount. We held fundraising parties and launched online fundraising campaigns. We also scaled back on how many products we would start out with. So, we didn’t launch our full line up of products. Instead we decided to start small and phase in our other products as we grow. It was hard deciding what to put out first!

MGGR:
We see you guys are from Memphis, TN…and now live in city of stars Los Angeles. How has the change been for you?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
We are working on a major launch in LA and NY so our time is spent in all three cities as we conduct market research and do some ground floor promo. We absolutely love all three cities for very different reasons.

MGGR:
What advice would you give to other inspiring GLAMprenuers who want to start a business like you did?

GLAM Girl-Mallory:
Believe in yourself and work hard! Believe that all things are possible. And keep it FUN!

GLAM Girl-Madison:
It all starts with strengthening your mind and taking the limits off your mind. Think BIG and you’ll grow BIG!

MGGR:
Eventually would you want to expand your products? and if so, what else is in store for Angels and Tomboys?

GLAM Girl-Mallory:
Certainly! We are launching our fragranced body washes, shampoos and conditioners soon. We are also working to have our products available in major retail outlets.

MGGR:
What makes you a GLAM Girl That ROCKS?

GLAM Girl-Madison:
The fact that I recognize that ALL girls are created EQUALLY different and that ALL girls ROCK!

GLAM Girl-Mallory:

I believe in inspiring other girls. It’s not just about me but I can make other girls happy and confident.
